Jim Beam Repeal Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey 750ml

December 5, 1933. Prohibition — 13 years of dry law — was finally repealed. And just 120 days later, James B. Beam had completely rebuilt his family distillery from the ground up and was making bourbon again. Jim Beam Repeal Batch is a limited edition tribute to that legendary act of determination — and to the first batch of bourbon Beam produced at that rebuilt distillery, which became the direct ancestor of the Jim Beam recipe that has made it the world's #1 bourbon ever since. What makes Repeal Batch different from standard Jim Beam? It's bottled at a higher 86 proof rather than 80, and — critically — it is non-chill filtered. Like the bourbon made right after Prohibition, Repeal Batch retains all of the natural oils and flavor compounds that chill filtration would remove. The label itself is inspired by the post-Prohibition Jim Beam White bottlings from the 1930s, making this one of the most historically resonant limited editions Jim Beam has ever produced. Prohibition was repealed on December 5, 1933. James B. Beam, then 70 years old, was determined to get his family's bourbon back in production as fast as possible. In just 120 days he had completely rebuilt the family distillery. Repeal Batch commemorates that first batch of bourbon from that rebuilt distillery — the direct ancestor of the Jim Beam recipe still used today. Why is this different from standard Jim Beam White Label? Repeal Batch is bottled at 86 proof (vs. 80 proof for the standard) and is non-chill filtered — retaining all natural oils and flavors gained during barrel aging. It may appear slightly hazy or contain sediment, exactly like bourbon from the 1930s did. Is this a limited edition? Yes — Jim Beam Repeal Batch was released as a limited edition tribute to the 85th anniversary of Prohibition's repeal and is not part of the regular permanent Jim Beam lineup.
