Jeu De Dés 2 Candle Holder

The Woud Jeu de dés 2 Candle Holder is the perfect middle ground in this clever marble collection - compact enough to fit tight spaces but substantial enough to make a statement. At 2.4 inches square and just 1.8 inches tall, this is the most cube-like of the three sizes, giving it this perfectly balanced geometric presence that works great when you need something more contained than the larger versions. Designer Oleg Pugachev carved out precise openings for both tea lights and taper candles, and the genius is how you can flip this solid marble block to choose which type of lighting you want at any moment. Available in three gorgeous natural marble colors - deep black, rich brown, and that striking green - each piece has its own unique stone patterns that make every candle holder one-of-a-kind. What makes the size 2 particularly appealing is how it anchors groupings without dominating them. The slightly lower profile compared to sizes 1 and 3 means it works beautifully as the center piece when you arrange multiple Jeu de dés together, creating this interesting visual rhythm of different heights and orientations. The 0.6-pound weight gives it enough heft that it won't slide around on smooth surfaces, but it's still light enough to reposition easily when you want to change up your arrangement. The smooth geometric cutouts make it just as interesting as a sculptural object when not in use - you can rotate it to show off different angles, or nestle it between books on a shelf where the marble's natural patterns catch light throughout the day. Woud builds from Denmark with founders Mia and Torben Koed focusing on connecting international design talent with Scandinavian sensibilities, and designer Oleg Pugachev represents this philosophy perfectly. Working from his Berlin studio since establishing it in 2015, Pugachev uses 3D design software as his primary sketching tool, allowing him to explore complex geometric relationships that would be difficult to visualize through traditional methods. His approach of balancing material properties, function, technology, and aesthetics resonates with Woud's commitment to creating objects that work beautifully in real homes rather than just design magazines, ensuring each piece enhances daily rituals through thoughtful, interactive design that invites hands-on engagement.
