Jeu De Dés 1 Candle Holder

The Woud Jeu de dés 1 Candle Holder turns the simple idea of holding candles into this clever sculptural puzzle that actually makes your table more interesting. Designer Oleg Pugachev carved out precise geometric cutouts in solid marble blocks - one for a tea light and another for a taper candle - but the genius is how you can flip and rotate the whole piece to change which opening faces up depending on what kind of candle you want to use. Available in three beautiful marble finishes (classic black, warm brown, and that really striking green), each piece has its own natural stone patterns that make every candle holder unique. The weight and cool touch of real marble gives it this substantial feel that plastic or ceramic versions just can't match, and the smooth edges mean it's comfortable to handle when you're rearranging it. What makes these candle holders really appealing is how they work equally well as functional lighting and as decorative objects when they're not lit. You can group multiple sizes together for this modern sculptural arrangement, or use just one as a minimalist accent piece that doesn't take up much space but definitely catches attention. The different orientations mean you get variety even with the same piece - sometimes you want the tea light well facing up for ambient lighting, other times you might prefer the taper candle opening for a more dramatic flame height. The marble construction handles heat well and won't tip over easily like some lightweight candle holders, plus the natural stone develops this beautiful patina over time from regular use that adds character rather than looking worn out. Woud approaches design from Denmark with founders Mia and Torben Koed focusing on collaborating with international designers who bring fresh perspectives to Scandinavian minimalism. Designer Oleg Pugachev, who created the Jeu de dés series from his Berlin studio, represents exactly this philosophy - using 3D software as his primary design tool to create pieces that balance material properties, function, and aesthetics in unexpected ways. Since graduating from Berlin-Weißensee School of Art and Design in 2013, Pugachev has built a reputation for experimental, interactive designs that invite people to engage with objects rather than just placing them and forgetting about them, which aligns perfectly with Woud's commitment to creating furniture and accessories that enhance daily rituals through thoughtful, hands-on design.
