This fragrant herb from India is famous for its use in perfumery. When you rub Patchouli leaves, they emit an exotic scent. It is a fast grower that has a bushy form and takes well to hard pruning. Grow Patchouli in full sun and even if you forget to water it on occasion, it is forgiving. Special note: Of the 40 species of Pogostemon, only two are used to make patchouli oil. Java Patchouli (Pogostemon heyneanus) is the one we grow and is more commonly found in cultivation. Pogostemon cablin is the other species used to make patchouli oil. Available in a 2.5" pot.
