Java Fern 'Narrow Leaf'

Java Fern Narrow Leaf (Microsorum pteropus "Narrow") is a popular aquatic plant known for its slender, elongated leaves that add a graceful, flowing aesthetic to freshwater aquariums. This hardy and low-maintenance plant thrives in a wide range of conditions, making it an excellent choice for both beginners and experienced aquarists. Unlike many rooted plants, Java Fern Narrow Leaf prefers to be attached to driftwood, rocks, or other hard surfaces rather than being buried in the substrate. It grows through rhizomes, which should remain exposed to prevent rot. This plant does well in low to moderate lighting and does not require CO₂ injection, though increased nutrients can enhance its growth. With its unique leaf structure and resilience, Java Fern Narrow Leaf provides shelter for fish and shrimp while helping to maintain water quality by absorbing excess nutrients. It’s an excellent choice for aquascaping, offering a natural and elegant touch to any aquarium setup.
