Jatim Java Bead Indonesia Cooper Collection

Ancient Jatim glass beads were produced in Java, Indonesia from 900 A.D. and earlier. These beads show the influence of Roman and Middle Eastern beadmakers that pre-date Islam. This is a modern reproduction. Transcribed: "Looks like new carving of quaran. I was able to read: 'In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful'. Also written are the names of the angels Azrael and Israfil, and the name of the Prophet Muhammadÿå. The writing is dotted. This is evidence that it is not very old.
