Japanesque: Six Elements

[[Release Detail]][[Release Description]] MASABUMI KIKUCHI, one of Japan's foremost jazz pianists, leaves behind his one-of-a-kind electronic music masterpiece ‘Japanesque: Six Elements’－now finally reissued! This elusive recording, created after the release of the acclaimed album ‘Susto’, is now revived as a 6-title SACD (hybrid) set and a 2-LP record, remastered by Taylor Deupree, who earned the deep trust of Ryuichi Sakamoto. "The music created for the 15-hour film, ‘Japanesque: Six Elements’, stands as Masabumi Kikuchi's singular electronic music legacy. Following his electric jazz/funk works ‘Susto’ and ‘One-Way Traveller’, the majority of his 1980s was devoted to creating this music. It stands as a record of his confrontation with pure electronic sound, a globally rare work that bridges the missing link between jazz and electronic music. It is nothing short of a joy to be able to reintroduce this to the world through Taylor Deupree's remastering." ― Masaaki Hara (Rings) "The countless wrinkles etched into the earth make it impossible not to feel history. Perhaps it is the confidence and pride that have endured across billions of years, an endless span of time." "You'll instantly travel back in time to another dimension. There, a long time flows. No one can stop the overlapping of time, one second at a time. At that moment, when we feel the greatness of the Earth and the universe, we all look back at ourselves and stare at ourselves."
