Jamieson & Smith 2 Ply Jumper Weight Yarn for Colorwork

Shetland Sheep have for generations been noted for their very soft and well crimped fleece. The wool is the finest of all native breeds and shows an amazing variety of colors and markings. There are 11 main whole colours and 30 recognised patterns and markings. The average staple length is 3.5 inches. The amount of crimp varies, and is important in providing the 'bounce' required for knitwear.  Premium Quality: Sourced from the Shetland Isles, the fleeces are sorted before spinning and only the finest wool is spun into knitting wool. Non-superwash: Jamieson and Smith 2 Ply is a non-superwash wool, and the colors blend beautifully.  In stranded colorwork the natural non-superwash wool allows the floats to felt slightly, providing extra warmth and durability. Convenient Skein Size: Each skein weighs 25 grams and contains approximately 115 yards, providing a convenient size for stranded-colorwork projects. Cones: Cones are a great value when you need more yardage of a single color. At 500 grams, they have approximately twenty times the yardage of a single skein. Unlike the skeins, finished projects should be soaked in soapy water to remove spinning oil residue. Interchangeable: Expand your color palette by using Jamieson & Smith 2 Ply along with Jamieson's of Shetland Spindrift. Easy Care: Maintain the beauty of your handmade creations with simple care instructions—wash by hand in cool water and lay flat to dry for best results.
