This striking 1954 Swedish poster was created for the Paramount adventure film “Jamaica Run,” starring Ray Milland, Arlene Dahl, and Wendell Corey. Released in Sweden under the title “Farliga Vatten,” which translates to “Dangerous Waters,” the film centers on a tangle of inheritance, smuggling, and tropical intrigue set against the lush backdrop of the Caribbean. The artwork splits the composition into two vivid fields of color, green for the underwater world and red for the danger that rises above it. Divers search the depths on the left, while a tense shoreline confrontation unfolds on the right. The bold palette and graphic contrasts are classic traits of Scandinavian poster design in the early fifties, a period when Swedish illustrators brought a fresh modern sensibility to Hollywood imports. Printed in Technicolor release, this poster captures the spirit of postwar adventure cinema while showcasing the distinct visual language of Swedish marketing art. A dynamic and collectible example from a golden era of international film posters. Size: 39.5" x 27.5" Condition: Very Good, Age-appropriate wear, fading and toning. Original fold lines as issued. Light border wear. Faint background creases. Please use the photo zoom feature to get a better understanding of overall condition. *Additional photos available upon request.
