'Jacob Cline' Bee Balm - Monarda didyma

It may be called "bee balm," but it's just as beloved by butterflies and hummingbirds, too! Especially 'Jacob Cline', as its classic red flowers provide the color that hummingbirds find irresistible, and an abundance of nectar that makes sure all winged visitors will come back for more.  Monardas perform best in full sun with moist soil. Though they can take some shade, this increases the potential for powdery mildew to develop. Avoid wetting the leaves and flowers to further minimize the potential for this unsightly, though ultimately harmless, condition.
