J-Hook Soft Shackle

J-Hook Soft Shackle Meet the J-Hook Soft Shackle — a smarter, safer twist on an old-school classic. For decades, steel J-hooks have been the standby in towing and recovery. We built a better way: a lightweight, closed-loop, synthetic J that grabs where metal struggles and stays calm if something goes sideways. Built by Yankum — we braid and splice our own cordage, then jacket it in a heavy-duty two-part polymer for durability. True J-shape control — one leg of the rigid chafe sleeve is intentionally longer for easier placement on undercarriages, axle housings, rims, and tight recovery points. Closed-loop safety — ditch open steel hooks. A soft, closed connection reduces hard-metal ricochet risk and cuts weight in your kit. Easier on gear — flexible fit, simple handling, less fuss in awkward angles or off-axis pulls. Exclusive — the only J-Hook Soft Shackle on the market. Available only at Yankum.com. Why Upgrade from Traditional J-Hooks? Weight & bulk: Steel hooks are heavy and clumsy in tight spaces. This is lighter, faster, and easier to stage. Open hardware risk: Open hooks can slip or turn into projectiles if something fails. Soft, closed loop = a calmer failure mode. Awkward geometry: Rigid metal fights you around odd shapes. The J-Hook Soft Shackle conforms and bites where you need it. Ideal Use Cases Off-road recovery (trucks, Jeeps, SxS/ATVs, overlanding rigs) Professional towing and utility work Situations with limited access or tricky angles under the vehicle Key Features Synthetic rope body with rigid, polymer-dipped chafe sleeve Purpose-built J profile for fast placement and control Closed-loop connection for safer recoveries Made in-house by Yankum for end-to-end quality Usage & Care Attach only to rated recovery points. Avoid tow balls and unrated mounts. Inspect for abrasion or fiber damage before each use; avoid sharp edges. Rinse grit after muddy/sandy pulls and dry fully before stowing.
