This comfortable, crew neck sweatshirt features original, custom artwork by Maoli designers. Air-jet spun yarn and quarter-turned fabric reduces pilling and gives this sweatshirt a soft, comfortable feel. The left chest, center back and left arm designs are printed using soft hand ink.  With a very comfortable, modern fit featuring a crew neck, this soft, women’s crew sweater is not too heavy and not too light. Perfect for staying warm in those early morning drives to the ocean to surf, chilly movie theaters, or cozy rainy weather.  Crew neck sweatshirt.  50% cotton, 50% polyester. Crew neck. Long sleeve. Perfect addition to any wardrobe.  Premium artwork by indigenous designers. Custom, trademark graphic. NATIVE HAWAIIAN DESIGN This design honors the ʻIwa (Frigate bird). The ‘Iwa is a master of the skies in Hawaiʻi and is frequently seen soaring across the ocean or against the steep pali (cliffs) searching for food. There are several ʻōlelo noʻeau (Hawaiian proverbs) that compare the Frigate bird’s graceful gliding to that of a handsome person.  The ʻIwa is also an ʻaumakua (Hawaiian ancestral guardian) to various family lines across Hawaiʻi. ʻAumakua would form symbiotic relationships with family members living in the present. As deified ancestors, they would protect and advise their descendants so that they may live better lives. In return, the descendants would form a bond and mālama (care) for their ancestors’ animal manifestation.
