It's Okay to Be Different

UNIQUE CIRCUMSTANCES. TEENS RISING ABOVE THEM. STORIES TO EMPOWER. No one wants to be different from everyone else. But sometimes we aren't given a choice. Like it or not, we stand out... That's the situation in which Racheli, Tehilla, Yisrael, Tuvia, Aviva, Uri, Shaina, and the other heroes in this book find themselves. How are they different? Well, Racheli is in a wheelchair, and Yisrael has a button phobia, and Uri stutters, and Shaina has no frum extended family. Despite these differences, in all other respects they are just like everyone else. Like you and like me.  It's Okay to Be Different is a one-of-a-kind book of mostly true stories about kids who are similar to us all...yet different in some way. The stories are fascinating and exciting, but most importantly they open readers' eyes to the fact that being different is alright. Everyone has a "pekel"; just some people's "pekelach" are more obvious than others.  No matter whom you are and what challenges you may have, one thing is for sure: each person is a precious world unto himself, filled with limitless potential for greatness. And regarding that, there are no differences among any of us! by Rhona Lewis
