Yeah Yeah Yeahs, It's Blitz!

Embroidery stitched directly through a vinyl record sleeve. Clear and glitter vinyl appliqued. 12x12x2 inches, framed in acrylic.      This was one of my favorites in the series to create. The cover makes no mention of the band or the title of the album, it is simply a photograph of a hand crushing an egg. I wanted to mimic different textures with this album cover so I started by stitching the arm and hand using multiple shades of rayon and polyester thread. I then used glitter fabric appliqués for the egg and for the fingernails. The fabric was stitched and then laser cut directly on the album. To represent the exploding egg I appliquéd clear vinyl onto the cover and embellished it with more thread. The clear material added further dimension to this outstanding album cover by the Yeah, Yeah, Yeah's.
