Few jackets have had the cultural impact or longevity of the venerable MA-1 Bomber Jacket. Designed to keep pilots warm in the early jet age, the jacket made extensive use of (for the time) cutting-edge materials. Its svelte form factor was ideal for the cramped, high-stakes conditions faced by pilots of the time. Mastering many of the features present on the earlier B-15, the MA-1's ability to be reversed, low-profile collar, and slightly less boxy feel culminated in a near-perfect design that has remained popular for decades. These jackets still use the older style black and yellow tag typical of 50s/early 60s USAF surplus. Some of the collars on these seem a bit larger than on later MA-1s, a possible quirk of earlier pieces. Some but not all of these jackets feature a bright orange interior. This feature was meant to help downed pilots make themselves more visible to would-be rescuers in the event they got shot down. These jackets are not sorted by whether their interior is bright orange or not. Features: Zip-up front Iconic USGI surplus Nylon shell Reversible Rib-knit waist and wrists
