Isotek EVO3 Initium Power Cable

EVO3 INITIUM GET CONNECTED EVO3 Initium is IsoTek’s entry level power cable designed to offer high quality performance at an extremely fair price. Initium is a must for replacing all of your free standard black plastic power leads which have been designed down to a price not up to a quality. FEATURES  CONSTRUCTION: The conductors are in a parallel construction with a slight rotational twist. This established technique remains the first line of defence against RFI and EMI rejection.   A) Conductors: 99.9999% OFC conductors offer an exceptional level of purity with enhanced conductivity. They are less likely to fracture or degrade over time. B) Dielectric: PE dielectric (insulation) is chemically inert and has a very low dielectric constant over a wide frequency range. PE possesses a very high degree of stress crack resistance and a low coefficient of friction making it an exceptional dielectric. PE is a good choice for safety in both temperature and electrical insulation.* C) Filler: Cotton filler has been used to give the cable internal strength and reduce microphony. Cotton also possesses excellent dielectric properties, the best of a solid material. D) Wrap: A paper wrap is used to secure the construction prior to the application of a flexible PVC jacket. The addition of the paper and cotton form a buffer with the PVC so as to maintain exceptional dielectric properties. E) Jacket: PVC is used as the outer jacket to give a high degree of flexibility and mechanical strength. TERMINATION: Initium cable is terminated using IsoTek’s bespoke Audiophile grade moulded connectors of solid OFC. These offer good performance qualities (90% copper/10% zinc (CuZn10) with robust nickel plating). *AUSTRALIA/NEW ZEALAND: DUE TO CERTIFICATION THE FOLLOWING FEATURES HAVE BEEN CHANGED: CONDUCTOR SIZE 3X 1.5SQMM, DIELECTRIC: PVC.   MULTI 6N OFC AG As one would expect, the internal wiring of any IsoTek product is of the highest standard, pure 6n OFC (Oxygen Free Copper – 99.9999%) conductor strands with silver-plating offer low resistance and high amperage. An FEP dielectric is used to protect the conductors as well as giving the ultimate internal power delivery system. IsoTek’s internal wiring synergizes with the range of IsoTek power cables. One critical but overlooked area is maintaining commonality of design and material properties though an audio wiring loom, be it signal carrying cables or your power cable network.   HIGH GRADE COMPONENTS Every IsoTek product uses the finest grade electrical components, many custom made, using the highest quality metals and materials which are specifically designed for purpose. Quality doesn’t stop at parts but also extends into the PCB designs, which maintain high levels of amperage and extraordinarily low levels of resistance, using up to eight times the general standard of copper prior to pure silver plating. Internal wiring also uses high purity coppers combined with silver plating, with either Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene (FEP) dielectric or IsoTek’s Virtual Dielectric of Air (VDA), where a FEP tube is wound around the conductor before an extruded FEP dielectric protects this construction giving unrivalled performance and the ultimate low resistance, high performance internal power delivery system.     REVIEW & AWARDS IsoTek EVO3 Initium - Read More "Then there are the (age-old) questions: A) Can you really hear it? B) Or is, as so often the case, the expectation, created by merely making a change, what results in the audible outcome? I would argue for A. Of course, a power cable won’t turn a mediocre system into a hi-fi superstar, but the difference in sound is actually discernible, even to the less-trained ears of an audiophile newcomer or only slightly more experienced hi-fi fan. These are nuances that add up to a clear “yes”, whether it’s the tighter, crisper playback of funky bass lines; a homeopathic pinch of more splendor and glory with soprano voices; or (and this is my subjective opinion) a little more “air and space” between the performers on stage. As a matter of fact, I usually enjoy playing around with cables to find out where I can improve my chain the most. In the case of the IsoTek EVO3 Initium, my wish would be for complete cabling — from the turntable right through to the Einstein The Tune (which, according to its instructions, really comes into its own when used with high-quality power cables). Affordable, clearly discernible, and extremely well made. You can shell out a hell of a lot more on power cables if you really wanted to, but the EVO3 really calls into question if that would truly be worth it in terms of improving sound." - Georg-Cölestin Jatta    IsoTek EVO3 Initium and EVO3 Sequel Power Cable Review - Read More "Both IsoTek’s EVO3 Initium and EVO3 Sequel are welcome additions to the affordable power lead marketplace, and look set to cause a bit of a tussle. The value for money is undeniable – as is the quality of construction, the refreshingly unfussy packaging and the sonic performance. EVO3 Initium is clearly the better value of the two, because it’s a giant leap from standard bundled power leads for not-much-money, but EVO3 Sequel is head-and-shoulders above it in sound, if you can afford the extra. As such, both come heartily recommended." - JAY GARRETT   IsoTek EVO3 Initium power cord - Read More "Fortunately, EVO3 Initium is more than up for the task. Lower cost audiophile power cords have a habit of either packing too much RFI treatment into the mix (making for potentially quieter backgrounds, but at the expense of dynamic freedom) or sound immediately exciting by seemingly filtering the bottom end to make the top sound exciting. Initium, instead, plays a longer game, with an absence of sonic signature and a good sense of dynamic freedom on integrated and smaller power amps. Initium also shows up just how inconsistent give-away power cords can be, by simply sounding like the device should sound. In the context of a demanding high-end system, there are better power cords (including better power cords in the IsoTek range) and the limitations begin to show in dynamic foreshortening. But this isn’t meant for high-end powerhouses; it’s meant for people with really good affordable audio equipment who want to give that system a more consistent performance. IsoTek’s EVO3 Initium is now our all-rounder default mains cable choice, and comes highly recommended as a result. " - Alan Sircom   IsoTek EVO3 Initium power cable out now - Read More "Flex appeal The EVO3 Initium has a nice, robust feel to it and is very flexible. The extra half metre over a standard Im cable is useful, easily accommodating the longest runs in my hi-fi rack. When connected to my valve preamp power supply, it certainly improves the clarity of the sound and there's a noticeable step up in the quality of instrument focus. In addition, the background seems quieter and the bass is more extended and fuller sounding. The silences in the solo vocal of Todd Rundgren's Wailing Wall and the super-deep bass line demonstrates this particularly well. The EVO3 Initium is a great value for money cable that provides excellent build quality. Man muss seine Erinnerung schon stark strapazieren, um herauszufinden, an welch anderer Stelle einer Anlage mit derart geringem monetären Aufwand fürs Zubehör eine solche Klasse-Leistung zu erzielen ist. Als Hersteller von Elektronik sollte man darüber nachdenken, entweder gleich eine solche Leitung mitzuliefern oder aber zumindest seine Kunden darauf hinweisen, dass an dieser Stelle noch ein paar Klangprozente zu holen sind.
