ISM PR 1.0 Saddle

If you have just reacquainted yourself with your bicycle and want to start becoming more active on two wheels, but fear that literal pain in the butt you invariably feel afterwards, then the ISM PR 1.0 Saddle should set your mind, among other things, at ease. PR refers to the Performance Recreation line of saddles, which ISM hopes will make all your rides, no matter the length, a painless pleasure. You can stick it on your hybrid, commuter, and even your weekend racer, and feel the same relief and comfort that will keep you riding well past your former limits. These are specified as recreation saddles because they do have more padding. In this case, the PR 1.0 has the 50-series level of padding. The dual foam and gel layers will help keep your ischial tuberosities cushioned when sitting more upright, while the nose-less, forked design will remove any pressure that you would normally be putting on your soft tissue when using a conventional saddle. Since it is 130mm at its widest point, you will have a generous platform to rest your bum. The saddle has been shaped specifically to give you that wide platform where you need it, but then slimmed down towards the front to allow for unencumbered pedaling motions. Before you head out on your first century with this saddle, though you should be very careful about having it properly adjusted. You can’t simply position it the same way you would your conventional saddle. ISM says that you should have between two and three inches of saddle behind you when you are in position. The steel rails with a satin finish will provide you with plenty of room to wiggle when adjusting the saddle. And the rear transition hook has been added just in case you work your way up to doing some triathlons, you won’t have to worry about messy transitions to the running section. At 325 grams, the ISM PR 1.0 Saddle is among the lighter options from ISM. This combination of comfortable shape and generous padding will help you stay happy on the roads for hours.
