With just one quick melt daily, Iron Plus Vitamin C Quick Melt helps you get the nutrients you need to support iron levels and red blood cell production after bariatric surgery. Iron is an essential mineral recommended for bariatric patients by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) guidelines to support hemoglobin production, muscle function, and healthy connective tissue. Iron absorption is improved by vitamin C due to a chelating process that transports iron to the small intestine for absorption. Supplementing iron with vitamin C helps the body absorb enough iron for health. Following weight loss surgery, patients are at a higher risk of micronutrient deficiencies due to nutrient malabsorption and lower nutrient intake with smaller meals. Iron in a bioavailable form like ferrous fumarate is recommended after bariatric surgery to help prevent nutrient deficiencies and support ongoing health. Bariatric Fusion Iron Plus Vitamin C Quick Melt may also be used by those experiencing iron deficiency anemia under the guidance of a healthcare provider. For a similar product in a capsule or soft chew form, try Bariatric Iron Capsule with Vitamin C or Bariatric Iron Soft Chew with Vitamin C. Bariatric Fusion's bariatric multivitamins and supportive supplements are formulated by a team of bariatric practitioners to support nutrient absorption for those who have undergone ASMBS-endorsed procedures, including duodenal switch, SIPS, SADI-S, sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass surgery, lap band, and intra-gastric balloon.
