Introduction to Perfumery Workshop

HEXEH Studio  /  Salt Lake City Intro to Perfumery A hands-on introduction to the art of fragrance. You will smell, learn, and leave with a perfume of your own. What this is A small-group workshop designed to introduce you to perfumery in a direct, practical way. You will work with raw materials, understand how a scent is built, and compose a fragrance entirely your own. No prior experience required. Who it's for Anyone curious about scent — whether completely new to it or already quietly attentive to the smells in your daily life. Both are welcome. There is no expectation of knowledge or talent. Only attention and curiosity. What you leave with Your own custom perfume A clearer understanding of how fragrance is constructed A more precise way of smelling and describing scent For some, it remains a memory. For others, it changes how they perceive the world around them. How the workshop unfolds We begin with guided smelling — learning how to approach a material, describe it, compare it. From there, we move into structure: top, heart, and base notes; balance and contrast. You will then compose your own formula and blend your perfume. The pace is focused but unhurried. The instructor Dimitri Allouch is a perfumer based in Salt Lake City. He formulates and produces all HEXEH fragrances in-house, from raw material to finished object. His approach is grounded in both technique and perception. The workshop reflects this balance. You do not need to bring anything. A few notes You do not need a "good nose" to attend. Most people have simply never been taught how to smell with attention. You are welcome to come alone.
