Exact-Size Intercom Cover Plate | Pick Any Size 3in to 12in and Your Own Screw Spacing | Made to Order

Exact-Size Intercom Cover Plate — Built to the Height, Width and Screw Spacing You Enter ✔ Made in USA✔ Free Shipping Over $100✔ Ships in 2-3 Business Days✔ Replacement Guarantee This is a flat outdoor-rated PETG  (outdoor rated plastic) cover plate that hides the hole left behind when an old wall intercom, door speaker or apartment station comes out, and gives a modern video doorbell a clean, solid surface to mount on. Instead of picking the closest listed size, you type in the exact height and width you measured — anything from 3 inches to 12 inches — and the exact center-to-center screw spacing off your old unit. It is printed to order to those numbers. It works with any video doorbell, including Ring, Google Nest, Wyze, Eufy, Blink, Arlo, Reolink, Aqara and Tapo, and with any of our swivel, fixed or corner mount bases — tell us the model and the pilot holes are drilled to match. How the Size Builder Works Everything on this plate is set by what you type into the option boxes above the Add to Cart button. Nothing is a fixed variant, so you are never stuck rounding to the nearest listed size. Your price is worked out from the size and options you choose and is calculated when the item is added to your cart. Plate Height and Plate Width — any value from 3" to 12" in 1/4" steps, set independently. A 6-1/4" x 4" plate is just as normal an order as a 6" x 4". Mounting Hole Layout — two holes on the vertical axis (the default, matching an upright intercom), two holes on the horizontal axis for a sideways-mounted unit, 4-corner screws when the old holes are unusable, or no mounting holes at all for a completely blank plate. Hole Spacing — type the center-to-center measurement to the 1/16". Any spacing is accepted. This box only appears when you have asked for two holes; pick No Mounting Holes and it goes away entirely. Center Wire Pass-Through Hole — yes or no. A hole through the middle of the plate so low-voltage doorbell or chime wires can come out the front. Doorbell Pilot Holes — yes or no. Say yes and a box appears for the doorbell make and model so we drill the right pattern and send the right screws. ✔ Outdoor-rated PETG, printed in the USA to your numbers. UV-stabilized PETG will not fade, yellow or go brittle in the sun, handles -40°F to 140°F, and takes ordinary latex or acrylic paint after a quick scuff-sand with 220-grit. Ships matte black by default — add a Color Change Request for white, tan, brown or brick tones. How to Measure Before You Order Two numbers do all the work: the wall opening (so we know how big to make the plate) and the screw center-to-center spacing (so the holes land where your wall already has anchors). The diagrams below show both. Step 1. Measure screw spacing center to center Step 2. Measure the opening; order at least 1" larger Take the old faceplate off — usually two or four screws around the edge. Leave the wires tucked behind for now. Measure the wall opening, height and width. That is the hole in the drywall or siding, not the metal box. Order a plate at least 1/2" larger on every side, so add at least 1" to each dimension. Measure the screw holes center to center. Hook your tape on the middle of one screw and read the middle of the other. Note whether the two screws run up-and-down (vertical, the usual case) or side-to-side. Round to the nearest 1/4" for the plate size. Hole spacing can be entered to the 1/16" — that one we print exactly as typed. Not sure? Text a photo with a tape measure in the frame to 833-326-6868 and a real person will confirm the numbers before you order. Mounting Hole Layout — How the Plate Attaches to the Wall 2 Holes — Vertical Axis (default). Countersunk round holes top and bottom at the spacing you type, so flat-head screws sit flush. This matches how nearly every intercom was installed. 2 Holes — Horizontal Axis. For old units that were mounted sideways. The wall screws go left and right instead. If you also order doorbell pilot holes, those stay on the vertical axis so the doorbell still ends up upright. Vertical Slots instead of round holes. Each hole becomes a 1/4" slot giving roughly 1/8" of play up and down. Worth it any time you are not completely sure of the measurement. 4-Corner Screws. For when the original holes are stripped, lost, or drilled into mortar. Four holes 1/4" in from each corner let you screw into the wall, trim or brick around the opening. Order the plate at least 1" wider and taller than the opening so the corners have something to bite. No Mounting Holes. A completely blank plate. The hole spacing box disappears and you drill it yourself on site. Holes Through the Face — Wire Pass-Through and Doorbell Pilot Holes These two are separate on/off choices, so you can have either, both, or neither: Center Wire Pass-Through Hole. A hole through the middle of the plate sized for low-voltage doorbell or chime wire. Pick this when a hardwired doorbell has to be fed from behind the wall. Battery doorbells and dead capped-off intercom wiring do not need it. Doorbell Pilot Holes. Pre-drilled holes on the face so a video doorbell — or one of our swivel, fixed or corner mount bases — screws straight onto the plate. Tell us the make and model in the text box and we drill the correct pattern and include the matching screws. Using one of our mount bases instead of a bare doorbell? Just type the mount name (for example "0-35° Swivel Base" or "Narrow Fixed Base") into the model box and we will drill that pattern instead. What This Plate Replaces Because the size and the screw spacing are both set by you, this listing covers openings that no fixed-size plate matches — including brands we do not have a dedicated listing for: Whole-home and door-speaker intercoms: NuTone, M&S Systems, Linear, Rittenhouse, Audiotech, Broan, Emerson, Valet, Nutone-Broan, IntraSonic, On-Q, Legrand. Apartment and multi-family stations: TekTone, Lee Dan, Alpha Communications, Aiphone, Comelit, DoorBird, Akuvox, Siedle. Odd wall openings generally: old thermostat cut-outs, retired alarm keypads, mail-slot patches, oversized single- or double-gang holes, and openings someone already cut too big. Not sure which brand yours is? The model number is usually stamped on the back of the faceplate or inside the box. Text a photo to 833-326-6868 and we will identify it. 🛠 Hardware included. Every plate ships with 2–4 black flat-head countersunk #6 screws for fastening it to your wall or old box. Order doorbell pilot holes and the matching doorbell mounting screws come too — preinstalled in the plate in most cases so you can see exactly where each screw goes. No trip to the hardware store. Installation Tools: tape measure, #2 Phillips driver, voltage tester. Drill and caulk optional. In the box: your made-to-order plate, 2–4 black flat-head countersunk #6 wall screws, and — if you ordered doorbell pilot holes — the matching doorbell mounting screws, preinstalled in the plate in most cases so you can see exactly where each screw goes. Measure and order. Measure the wall opening and the center-to-center screw spacing on the old intercom, then enter those numbers on this page. Add at least 1/2 inch of overlap on every side of the opening. Kill the power. Switch off the breaker feeding the intercom before you open anything up. Doorbell transformers are low voltage but intercom master stations often are not. Remove the old intercom. Take off the old faceplate and unit. Cap any wires you are not reusing with wire nuts and tuck them back into the box. Dry-fit the plate. Hold the plate over the opening and check that it covers the hole on all four sides and that the screw holes line up. Slotted holes give you about 1/8 inch of play. Feed the wires. If you ordered the center pass-through hole, pull the doorbell wires through it now before you set the plate against the wall. Fasten the plate. Drive the included flat-head countersunk #6 screws through the plate into the wall or the old box. Hand-tight is enough — PETG does not need to be cranked down. Attach the doorbell. If you ordered pilot holes, screw your video doorbell or mount base onto the front of the plate with the small screws included in the kit. They ship preinstalled in the plate in most cases so you can see exactly where each one goes. Seal and finish. Caulk the perimeter with paintable acrylic for outdoor installs, leaving the bottom edge open so any water can drain. Paint to match the wall if you want. Restore power and test. Frequently Asked Questions What sizes can I actually order? Any size from 3 inches to 12 inches on either side, in 1/4-inch steps. Height and width are set independently, so 3 x 3, 6-1/4 x 4, 7-1/2 x 5-1/2, 9 x 6 and 12 x 12 are all valid. You type the numbers in and the plate is printed to match. How does the price work? Your price is worked out from the size and the options you choose, and it is calculated when the item is added to your cart. Pick your height, width and options and you will see the exact total before you check out. What if I don't need any mounting holes? Choose No Mounting Holes for the hole layout. The hole spacing field disappears and you get a completely blank plate you can drill yourself on site. My old intercom was mounted sideways. Can you match that? Yes. Mounting holes are on the vertical axis by default, top and bottom. If your old unit was installed sideways, pick 2 Holes - Horizontal Axis and the screw holes go left and right instead. If you also order doorbell pilot holes, those stay on the vertical axis so a modern doorbell still installs upright. What are pilot holes for and do I need them? Pilot holes are pre-drilled mounting holes for a video doorbell or one of our mount bases to screw onto the front of the plate. Tell us the doorbell make and model in the text box and we drill the correct pattern and include the matching screws. Skip them if you only need a blank cover. Do I need the center wire pass-through hole? Only if wires have to come out through the face of the plate. Hardwired doorbells that feed from behind the wall usually need it. Battery doorbells and dead capped-off intercom wiring do not. What if my screw spacing measurement is a little off? Choose Vertical Slots instead of round holes. Each hole becomes a 1/4-inch slot that gives you about 1/8 inch of play up and down. If your old screw holes are stripped or unusable entirely, choose 4-Corner Screws and mount the plate to the wall around the opening instead. Will the plate hold up outdoors? Yes. Every plate is 3D-printed in UV-stabilized outdoor-grade PETG that does not yellow or get brittle in sunlight, and handles -40F to 140F. Default finish is matte black, and PETG takes ordinary latex or acrylic paint after a light scuff-sand. ✔ Replacement Guarantee — The Right Plate, Guaranteed Send a picture of your install area and your doorbell BEFORE you order.
