Instructions on Christian Morality

For Preachers and Teachers By Rev. John Kiely. 758 page book, Impr, 1924. Explains the doctrine and then divides it into its different parts, then gives a number of striking verses from the Bible bearing on the subject, which are exceedingly well-chosen, and quoted extensively. Finally it gives a variety of extracts from the writings of the Fathers of the Church, which help to enforce and emphasize the special doctrine under consideration. The wealth of Scriptural texts, and the copious quotations from the writings of the Fathers, which the learned author brings to bear upon each doctrinal explanation, give to his book a characteristic entirely of its own, and raise it far above the level of most catechetical works. In this work the priest will have at hand a rich mine of thoughts and suggestions for doctrinal and moral instruction. The layman will possess the key to a priceless store of Catholic doctrine and devotion.
