InSight Apex Controller Display - AvidAqua

AvidAqua InSight & InSight Pro for Neptune Apex Smart, Wireless Touchscreen Displays for Neptune Systems Apex Users The AvidAqua InSight and InSight Pro are modern, full-color touchscreen displays built specifically for reef keepers running an Apex system. Instead of pulling out your phone to check Apex Fusion, InSight gives you a clean, always-visible dashboard right where you need it; next to the tank, on your controller board, or even across the room. Minimalist, button-free, and purpose-built for reef systems, InSight keeps your most important parameters front and center without replacing the power of Apex Fusion. It simply makes your data more accessible in everyday use. See Any Parameter from Apex Fusion InSight mirrors the data that already matters to you. Anything visible in your Apex Fusion dashboard can be displayed on the 4-inch touchscreen, including: Temperature pH Salinity ORP Alkalinity, Calcium, and Magnesium (when paired with a Trident) Custom tiles and additional modules For busy households or high-traffic areas, having critical system data visible at a glance adds peace of mind without needing to unlock a device. Wireless Flexibility with Apex Local InSight connects wirelessly using Apex Local. As long as both devices are on the same WiFi network, no direct AquaBus cable is required. This makes placement far more flexible than traditional controller displays. Mount it: Beside the display tank On a controller board In a remote filtration room On a desk or nightstand Important: Do not plug InSight into Apex AquaBus ports. It connects via WiFi only. Control Feed Modes & Outlets Without Your Phone InSight is not just a display. It also gives you quick access to essential Apex controls: Swipe Right Activate or deactivate any of the four Apex feed modes. Swipe Left Access outlet control and toggle outlets between On, Off, and Auto. Simple gestures make routine maintenance easier without navigating the full Fusion interface. Real-Time Apex Emergency Alerts When an Apex alarm is triggered, InSight displays a full-screen alert immediately. You can: Take action right away Snooze the alert Ignore it temporarily if it is non-critical Having alerts visible outside of your phone adds an extra layer of redundancy for serious reef systems. Mounting & Placement Options InSight and InSight Pro are designed to fit cleanly into modern aquarium setups: Table Stand – Ideal for desks, shelves, or countertops Panel Mount – Low-profile mounting for controller boards or cabinetry ModMag Magnetic Compatibility – Works with AvidAqua’s modular magnetic mounting system (sold separately) Because there is no direct cable to the Apex, placement is entirely based on what is most useful for your setup. InSight vs InSight Pro Both models share the same core functionality: 4" Full-Color Touchscreen Displays Apex Fusion Parameters Wireless Connection via Apex Local Customizable Home Screen via MyAquarium App Multiple Mounting Options Connect Multiple InSights to One Apex Access Multiple Apex Systems from One InSight What Makes InSight Pro Different? InSight Pro adds built-in environmental sensors to monitor the room around your aquarium: Ambient Room Temperature Humidity CO₂ Levels VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) Why Room CO₂ Monitoring Matters Elevated indoor CO₂ is one of the most common causes of chronically low aquarium pH. With InSight Pro, you can measure actual room CO₂ levels and determine whether strategies like fresh air exchange or CO₂ scrubbers are worth implementing. VOC monitoring also adds awareness around cleaning products, aerosols, or off-gassing materials near your aquarium. Is InSight Worth It? If you already run an Apex system and want a clean, always-on display that integrates seamlessly into your setup, InSight adds convenience without complexity. If you are actively working to stabilize pH or want more environmental awareness around your reef system, InSight Pro provides meaningful room-level data that most aquarists have never been able to monitor before. At Top Shelf Aquatics, we recommend InSight for hobbyists who want daily visibility, and InSight Pro for reef keepers who are focused on long-term environmental optimization and pH stability.
