This lipped rim rolls over outside edge of keyhole. Once installed it provides a tidy appearance. In addition, it often hides previous wood damage which may exist around the edge of keyhole. Use as replacements on antique furniture. These Lipped Keyhole Inserts are cast brass.  They offer a heavy rigid construction that does not bend. They are polished but not lacquered.
