In The Green

THIS TITLE IS LICENSED BY CONCORD THEATRICALS. A musical drama examining the historical background of one of Medieval history's most influential and innovative figures: composer, mystic, philosopher, and saint Hildegard von Bingen. Hildegard von Bingen, a medieval saint, healer, visionary, exorcist, and composer, experienced confinement in a cloister's cell due to her notable sensitivity to her environment. Accompanying Hildegard is Jutta, a woman dedicated to seclusion as a means of reclaiming her sense of self following profound trauma. Under Jutta’s mentorship, Hildegard seeks to unify her disjointed identity while her guide advocates for the rejection of fragmentation. In the Green is a unique musical narrative, a compelling and acoustically intricate chronicle of two remarkable women shaped by adversity and their transformative journey of healing that influenced history.
