This mala is hand-strung with 108 impression jasper beads and three crabfire spacer beads, handmade for Tibetan Treasures. A mala is a string of 108 beads — one hundred for counting mantra recitations and eight more to make up for any recited incorrectly — together with a larger guru bead. It is used to keep count while reciting mantra in meditation and daily practice. “Your mala represents not only the form of the deity but the speech of the deity as well. For example, if you recite the One-Hundred-Syllable mantra, the guru bead represents the syllable OM and the other beads represent the remaining syllables.” — Gyatrul Rinpoche, The Generation Stage in Buddhist Tantra Details Beads: 108 (plus 3 crabfire spacers) Bead size: 0.3 in (8 mm) Material: Impression jasper with crabfire Handmade for Tibetan Treasures
