Immune SURE with vitamin C and zinc is a powerhouse for supporting canine immune system function. We call this product our "first-aid formula" because it provides protection against both viral AND bacterial microorganisms. The herbs in this formula have powerful, natural antimicrobial properties. Unlike antibiotics, the ingredients in Immune SURE will not compromise the canine gut flora, a key component of healthy immunity. It has been said that 80% of a mammal's immunity is in the gut. By leaving this first line of immune defense intact, it not only helps combat current pathogens in the body, but may help prevent recurring infections that become opportunistic when the digestive flora is weak. As with humans, the young and the elderly are the most vulnerable to infection, so it is important to pay particular attention that our canines' health does not become compromised at these life stages. What is Immune SURE Used For? Immune SURE is a multi-purpose formula designed to support the immune system against many of the microorganisms that can cause infections. Most notably these would be bacteria and viruses. Immune SURE may help support against: Viruses  Bacteria (such as gastrointestinal, urinary, skin and respiratory) Parasites Fungi Allergic responses Cancers Environments where infections can be passed (such as kennels) Many of the conditions above receive treatment that is specific to that condition. For example, if your pet had a urinary tract infection, we would recommend Urinary Gold as the primary formula to administer. Similarly, Life Gold is designed to support pets with cancer. In those cases, Immune SURE provides extra support and insurance for the immune system. For other conditions such as viral infections, Immune SURE is Pet Wellbeing's primary formula. Immune SURE can be used in the acute or chronic phase of an infection. It can be used whenever the immune system requires extra support. Use Immune SURE for primary or secondary infections. A secondary infection can develop as a new condition because immunity is already low. Immune SURE can also be used for apparent or latent (no visible symptoms) infections. A note from our veterinarian... You and your veterinarian are the best judge of what type of immune support your dog will most benefit from. What we do know is that antibiotics have seen extensive use (some would say overuse or indiscriminate use) over many decades but there is certainly a very appropriate time and place to use them. Herbal medicine provides some potent and very effective antimicrobial products that have been proven to exhibit a broad range of activity against certain bacteria and viruses. Fortunately, we have both of these at our disposal: antibiotics and herbal-based antimicrobials such as Immune SURE. Immune SURE may be appropriate as the primary treatment when a canine presents with an infection, or it may be more suitable as a secondary remedy. For example, with a respiratory infection or an eye infection, I would first use a product specific to those conditions, and Immune SURE as an adjunct remedy to support overall immunity. Probiotics such as Pet Wellbeing's Ultimate Probiotic 9 Strains are also a key adjunct for supporting immune function and can be given daily.  Never underestimate the health potential of optimal nutrition. Feeding your canines a natural, healthy diet is the best immune support you can give them. If you haven't already, consider an unprocessed, cereal-free diet for your dog. *Never give an animal antibiotics that were prescribed for a human. Does it Come With a Guarantee? Yes! Immune SURE is Formulated With: Andrographis herb (Andrographis paniculata): A tropical and subtropical herb that has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for many hundreds of years, Andrographis is receiving increasing interest in the West. Studies have isolated an antiviral component and also some activity against the herpes virus. In traditional use, it has been employed for the liver, stomach, and to induce normal appetite. Echinacea root (Echinacea angustifolia): Echinacosides and polysaccharides in Echinacea have been the subject of numerous studies for immune system support. Echinacea has been shown to exert an antiviral effect by stimulating an immune response rather than directly affecting a virus itself. Echinacea has also been shown to increase white blood cell counts and initiate general immune response and resistance. Usnea thallus (Usnea barbata): Also called "Old Man's Beard", constituents isolated from Usnea lichen have shown an antimicrobial action against bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Goldenseal root (Hydrastis canadensis): Goldenseal is often indicated for a healthy immune system response when infection is present. It has been shown to have a direct antimicrobial effect on many bacteria and viruses. Elder berry (Sambucus nigra): Elder berries, high in flavonoids, have a long history of use for colds, influenza, fever, enlarged glands and tonsils, and sinus infection. Elderflower and berry have shown clinical effectiveness with its antioxidant and antiviral activity. Licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra): Numerous bioactive constituents have been found in Licorice with glycyrrhizic acid considered to be the most active. Pharmacological studies indicate antiviral, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative activity. Licorice is also used as a natural sweetener due to its sweet taste. Propolis resin: This is an exudate collected from bee hives. Bees keep their hives protected from fungus and other life threatening microbes by sealing cracks in their hive structure with this substance. It is mainly collected from poplar trees and is considered a natural antimicrobial. When propolis is harvested, bees continue to make more for their hive. Ginger rhizome (Zingiber officinale): A small amount of ginger is added to this formula as a "harmonizer" and for its known antibacterial properties. ... 363 mg per ml Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) ... 5 mg/ml Zinc glycinate chelate ......... 0.5 mg/ml Herbs are certified organic, ethically wild-harvested or selectively imported.
