4. Large Teardrop Pietersite - 051424

Pietersite stones are a unique variety of chalcedony, known for their striking colors and chatoyant or "cat's eye" effect. They are composed primarily of quartz and are formed through a process of hydrothermal alteration of volcanic rocks. Pietersite is also known as tempest stone as it is a stone that carries a charge, a little like a storm raging within it. They are highly valued by gemstone collectors and lapidary artisans for their beauty and rarity.Pietersite stones are a true marvel of the natural world, and they evoke feelings of romance, love, and adventure with every glance.
