Icom MB53 Mobile Mounting Kit for A220

Mobile Transceiver Installation Solution for Avionics Ground Support Adapt your panel-mount aviation radio seamlessly for reliable vehicle or ground station operations. The Icom MB53 is a complete, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) mobile mounting installation solution engineered to transition panel-mount airband transceivers into vehicular environments. Integrating the Icom MB53 into your airport marshalling trucks, service vehicles, or mobile command stations provides ground crews with stable, immediate access to critical aviation frequencies. This comprehensive setup structuralizes your communications by bundling all required adapter hardware, wiring paths, and core audio peripherals into a single deployment package. Fabricated to withstand the constant vibrations and physical bumps of field operations, the heavy-duty metal slide chassis within the Icom MB53 kit holds your transceiver securely in place under dashboards or inside floor consoles. The pre-wired installation harness streamlines electrical routing, linking power lines and peripheral speaker lines directly into the radio frame safely. By modifying the standard aircraft headset outputs into high-clarity mobile speaker streams, this system ensures clear voice delivery across loud runway strips and demanding flight line coordination zones. Key Features & Benefits Complete Vehicular Integration: Combines the structural mounting bracket framework, an external speaker, a hand microphone, and a wired power harness into one kit. Streamlined Radio Maintenance: Features a secure slide-mount configuration that allows technicians to quickly remove the transceiver for bench servicing or secure storage. More Resources What Is a Two-Way Radio System? Components, Types, and Use Cases Frequently Asked Questions What components are bundled inside this installation kit? The package contains everything needed to adapt a panel mount avionics radio for ground vehicles, including the primary heavy-duty metal slide bracket, an HM176 hand microphone, an SP35 external speaker, an MBA3 rear assembly adapter, and a pre-wired vehicle connection harness. Does this hardware support quick removal of the radio? Yes, the mechanical configuration allows operators to quickly slide the transceiver out of the vehicle mounting chassis for service, secure storage, or diagnostic bench testing without tearing down the hardwired vehicle harness. Can this bracket install directly into standard dashboard slots? This structural component is built to mount firmly onto flat surfaces like floor consoles, under-dash assemblies, or overhead panel racks within utility trucks, airport marshalling vehicles, and command base stations. Why does a panel mount radio require an external speaker? Panel mount avionic radios are natively engineered to route audio through aircraft intercom systems or headsets. When deployed in a ground vehicle, the external speaker included in this kit is required to make incoming voice traffic audible over cabin noise. Is this mounting system compatible with non-aviation radios? No, the physical frame constraints, matching power harness pins, and rear adapter blocks are customized exclusively to interface with specific Icom airband transceivers such as the A200, A210, and A220 configurations. Does this installation package include an airband antenna? No, an external VHF airband mobile antenna and matching coaxial antenna cable are not included in the standard box and must be acquired separately to achieve proper signal propagation from your vehicle.   Warranty 1-year manufacturer’s warranty.
