Ichthys Christian Fish Pendant

The Ichthys or Christian fish is a symbol used by Christians, consisting of two intersecting arcs that resemble the outline of a fish. The symbol is also known as the "Jesus fish," because the Greek word for fish, "ichthys," is made up of the initial letters of the Greek words for "Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior." The Ichthys is often used as a symbol of faith by Christian individuals and organizations, and can be seen on bumper stickers, jewelry, and other items. The use of the fish as a Christian symbol can be traced back to early Christianity, when it was used as a secret symbol to identify believers during times of persecution. Today, the Ichthys is a widely recognized symbol of Christian faith and is often used to identify Christian businesses, organizations, and institutions.
