White Iceberg Roses

The Iceberg Rose is a hybrid variety that was created by crossing the Robin Hood and Virgo rose bush varieties. This rose is a deciduous shrub that produces gorgeous bright white flowers for most of the year. The Iceberg rose is extremely low-maintenance and easy to grow for people with little to no experience. It is almost completely resistant to any mildew and disease. It is able to grow up to 4 feet high and 3 feet wide. This rose should be planted in areas that will get a minimum of 6 hours of full sun exposure. Full sun is important to create optimal flowering during bloom seasons. The Iceberg Rose grows best in well-drained, acidic soil. This shrub should be watered once a week to the appropriate depth. This shrub is also extremely adaptable to most landscapes. Prune during the spring to remove any damaged stems that may have occurred during frost periods. When pruning, cut at an angle that will cause the stems to grow away from the center of the rose bush and avoid over-crowding. During the colder months, its best to protect the plant by adding compost around the base to keep it warm and use frost protection if the temperatures go below freezing.  The Iceberg Rose is a shrub that can be planted almost anywhere, as long as it gets an adequate amount of sun. Depending on how you want to use them in your landscape, they can be trimmed down into a low bush, or pruned into a small hedge. The white flowers make it a great option when you are looking to add some classic simple accents to your yard. There is also a climbing variety of the Iceberg Rose that looks stunning wrapped around trellis’ in your yard.
