The Umpqua Ice Cream Cone is an iconic and indispensable stillwater fly, specifically developed to imitate the large pupa stage of the chironomid (midge) as it prepares to emerge. Its signature feature is the oversized white bead, which perfectly represents the cluster of gills and gas bubble that make the insect an irresistible target for feeding trout. Fished under an indicator or with a slow, controlled retrieve, this durable and brightly-colored pattern is a consistent producer, making it an absolute must-have for success on lakes and reservoirs.
