ABOARD the Spanish airline Iberia in the 1960s, did passengers look out their windows and see this chef flying alongside as they tucked into their meals? This fun image - the chef’s moustache is the airline’s emblem – was the front cover of an in-flight catering menu. Presumably, it was to show the extra lengths taken by Spain’s national air carrier to serve good food up in the clouds. Amazingly, one of the dishes served above 30,000ft was soup! There was also a comprehensive liquors list, and the menu was in Spanish, English, Italian, French and German. Iberia was founded in 1927 and is based in Madrid, where it operates an international network of services. It merged with British Airways in 2011 to form International Airlines Group (IAG) although both airlines continue to operate under their respective brands. Gallery quality Giclée print on natural white, matte, 100% cotton rag, acid and lignin free archival paper using Epson archival inks. Custom printed with border for matting and framing. Each order includes a print of the interior menu. All printed in USA.
