I am Content Bible Study

Contentment in Jesus comes with abiding in Jesus. Abiding does not happen without giving Him reign over our desires, because Light cannot dwell with darkness. (1 John 1:5) God wants to be the Lord of our lives today, not just the Savior of our souls eternally. Wearing the label of christianity without living a deeply satisfying life here on earth is like living in the dingiest, dirtiest tiny room while holding a ticket for a new home sometime in the unknown future—we file the ticket away in a box under the bed, not realizing the fine print gives a temporary address in the best neighborhood in town! Are we striving to allow Jesus to be Lord in all segments of our lives? Or is He rather a hidden label that reads “saved for eternity”? Having Jesus as rightful Lord of our lives is the foundation of contentment. As we recognize our cravings and replace them with the richest satisfaction in the truest love of Christ, we address greed in our lives and deny ourselves to be filled instead with gratitude; we experience true contentment. 50 pages, 3 chapters DESCRIPTION This study contains portions of scripture to read, teaching about the topic or scripture, exercises where you will engage with the text in various ways (underline, circle, match answers, rewrite portions, fill in the blank, define a word, etc.), guided prayer, thoughtful questions for application and deeper study.  It is easily divided in such a way that you can do it in one sitting or over several days in smaller portions.
