The HySecurity Hy5B 2.0 (part number MX4621, formerly MX4125) is a plug-in inductive loop vehicle detector for HySecurity Smart Touch, Smart DC and SmartCNX controllers. It plugs into a detector socket on the controller board. The board has four detector sockets: free exit, inside obstruction, outside obstruction and center loop. Power draw is about 35 mA, low enough for solar sites. Size is 1-3/4 x 3-5/8 in. The detector sets sensitivity for each loop on its own. Auto sensitivity can be turned off to set sensitivity and boost by hand from the controller. The controller coordinates all installed Hy5B detectors to prevent crosstalk. The Hy5B counts vehicles, including tailgaters. A status LED shows the operating mode and loop faults, and a grounding terminal adds lightning protection. What's Included Hy5B vehicle detector 3 plastic standoffs (2 used, 1 spare) Before You Order Plugs into HySecurity Smart Touch, Smart DC and SmartCNX controllers. Full Hy5B features need Smart DC software 5.55 or higher or Smart Touch software 4.54 or higher. On older software the detector runs in Hy5A emulation mode. Software updates load from a laptop with HySecurity S.T.A.R.T. software. Direct replacement for the discontinued HY-5A (MX000041). No software update is needed to run it in Hy5A emulation mode. MX4125 is the earlier Hy5B part number. The current part number is MX4621 (Hy5B 2.0). Loop plus lead-in resistance should be 4.0 ohms or less, and resistance to earth ground 100 megohms or more. Use direct-burial loop wire such as XLPE or XHHW, not THHN. Terminals take 20-14 AWG wire. Loop wire is not included.
