The baffle and filter sponge of the sand vacuum cup prevent small fish, shrimp, and gravel from being sucked in, and block sand and gravel entry to the motor. Aquarium Cleaning – When used with the brush head, the handheld water changer effectively wipes off grime on aquarium walls, as well as tough stains settled on the tank bottom and landscape rocks. – When used with the duckbill suction head, it sucks up leftover fish food, fish waste, and large particle debris at the tank bottom. -The extended plastic scraper on one side also helps to clean tank walls. Anti-clog Design The hygger 298 water changer is equipped with a safe DC motor for quieter running with less vibration and lower noise. It effectively prevents sand jamming and reduces clogging and sudden shutdown failure greatly, and fits both fine sand and coarse gravel substrates. Stable Handheld Use Built-in air release valve at the 3-way tube automatically exhausts trapped air and vacuum inside the pump and tubes. It effectively fixes the common no-suction problem when turning on the pump before putting it in water for more stable performance. Note: A slight water spray from the top is normal during air venting. Usage Tips Hand-tighten only. Do not over-tighten to prevent pipe/fitting damage Suitable for low-water-level cleaning, but not for long-term use as an in-aquarium filter.
