Hydrangea Magical® 'Revolution' Shrub

A stunning display of ever-changing colors The Magical Revolution® Hydrangea delivers season-long interest with blooms that evolve beautifully over time. Flowers initially open in shades of pink or blue, depending on soil pH. As the blooms mature, they transition through rich tones of purple, maroon, deep pink, and antique green, creating a layered, multicolor effect that lasts for months—often up to 150 days. Planting this hydrangea in your yard adds a touch of sophistication and intrigue, providing a dynamic element to your landscape. Its compact habit makes it adaptable to smaller gardens, while its incredible color-changing blooms offer visual interest throughout the seasons. With strong growth and minimal maintenance, this shrub is an excellent choice for both novice and seasoned gardeners alike. Planting & Care 1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Choose a location with partial shade to full sun and well-draining soil. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and slightly shallower than its height. Place the plant so the top of the root ball sits level with the surrounding soil, then backfill with native soil mixed with compost. Spread a 3" layer of mulch about 3 feet around the shrub to conserve moisture, insulate roots, and suppress weeds. 2. Watering: Water regularly during the first growing season to establish a strong root system. Once established, water during dry spells, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Consistent moisture supports the best bloom performance. 3. Pruning: This hydrangea blooms on old and new wood. Pruning is rarely needed, but if desired, prune lightly just after flowering to remove dead, diseased, or weak growth. 4. Fertilizing: Feed in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer such as Espoma 5-10-5, following package instructions. This supports healthy growth and vibrant blooms throughout the season.
