Hybris Weights by Queen of the Ashes

Priced Per Pair Exploring the intersection of art and philosophy, our Hybris Earweights are drawing inspiration from the timeless concept of Memento Mori paintings. Reminiscent of molten gold gracefully cascading down the ear, they are a reminder of life's fleeting nature and the fallacy of humankinds strive for material riches. These unique lightweight earweights tell a story, encapsulating both life's transience and the fragility of opulence. Available in yellow brass, white brass Wearable: 8 mm Measurements: 45 x 10 mm Queen of the Ashes is a jewelry brand founded in 2019. The brand focuses on ear weights and draws inspiration from punk aesthetics, a style that was difficult to find in the jewelry market. Motivated by their significant other, the founder decided to bring this unique style into the piercing industry. Starting just before the COVID-19 pandemic, the brand faced challenges with growing its customer base due to global slowdowns. However, this period allowed the founder to refine and perfect their designs. Being based in Germany added complications, especially as local studios tend to invest more in gold, making it harder for smaller, niche brands to gain traction. Despite these challenges, Queen of the Ashes found more success in the U.S. market, with their ear weights being particularly popular. The brand embraces exclusivity by offering limited-run designs, enhancing the collectability of their pieces. While maintaining accessible prices, they keep collections small and often sell out of certain designs, adding to their allure.
