Humble and Powerful ~ Subliminal

Humble and Powerful — Webster defines humility this way, “Freedom from pride or arrogance: the quality or state of being humble; accepted the honor with humility.” Truly powerful people who remain humble, are those the world respects and admires. Leaders of all walks of life who head organizations are both powerful and yet humble. Indeed, the wise role of leadership is to always remain humble. Humility inspires others because it recognizes their importance and worth.  You do not need to be a leader in order to prosper from humility. As James Faust stated, “A grateful heart is a beginning of greatness. It is an expression of humility. It is a foundation for the development of such virtues as prayer, faith, courage, contentment, happiness, love, and wellbeing.” Others admire those who remain humble regardless of their success or role in life. The fact is, there is no true respect for others possible unless humility resides in the heart. As such, humility inspires others because it recognizes their importance and worth.  Rick Warren put it this way, “Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it's thinking of yourself less.” The hidden fact about humility missed by so many is the amount of power it grants. It builds self-esteem by cultivating good will from others. It makes followers into leaders and turns happenstance into opportunities. It rewards the humble with happiness and peace. It turns belligerence into cooperation and otherwise enhances relationships. Humility is a skill set we all can benefit from. Begin to solidify this skill for yourself today!
