This 1973 theatrical re-release poster was created for Sex Madness, a 1938 exploitation film originally released as Human Wreckage. Produced by Dwain Esper, the film was part of the era’s “sex hygiene” genre, which presented sensational subjects under the guise of public education. New Line Cinema retitled and re-released the film as Sex Madness in 1973, when vintage exploitation films were finding a new audience through the growing midnight movie scene. The poster combines the film’s 1930s origins with bold 1970s graphics and sensational advertising, including the tagline, “She sought Big Thrills... and caught Big Trouble!” The release was paired with High on the Range, a 1929 “marijuana western” starring Yakima Canutt. The double feature followed New Line’s successful 1972 revival of Reefer Madness, reflecting renewed interest in campy, vintage films dealing with drugs, sex, and vice. Size: 24.0" x 18.5" Condition: Very Good, Age-appropriate wear, fading and toning. Original folds present. Light creasing towards top of fold in center border. General border wear. Light corner creasing. Please use the photo zoom feature to get a better understanding of overall condition. *Additional photos available upon request.
