Huaning Pottery Handmade Cup #358

Brewing tea with handmade pottery adds something to the experience that factory-made cups don't provide. These Huaning pieces come from a pottery tradition dating back over 600 years in Yunnan province.  The cup comfortably holds approximately 55 ml. The glazed surface won't absorb flavors between teas, and the foot ring provides stability on your tea table. Local Huaning potters still harvest clay from nearby hills and hand-blend their glazes from natural minerals. The tradition dates back to the Ming Dynasty, and Huaning pottery was once considered the finest in the ancient Dian kingdom. Each piece is wheel-thrown and fired in traditional kilns, where variations in temperature and flame create the distinctive color patterns and textural effects that make every cup unique. Each cup comes in its own protective gift box.  Note: Each piece is handmade and one of a kind. Product color and surface details may vary a bit due to photographic lighting or monitor settings.
