HTP41 Candle Wicks

HTP 41- 6” pre-cut, pre-tabbed wick. 0.84” flame height; 1.41” burn pool. HTP Wicks are 100% natural fibers, lead-free, and veggie coated to help the rigidity when using in candles. These wicks are ideal for all paraffin, soy, and coconut-based candle waxes. HTP wicks are made using high performance natural fibers which helps increase rigidity and the benefits of a self-trimming wick. Benefits of HTP wicks The HTP series is very consistent; no matter which wick size you select they will perform the same batch after batch and are great for novice candle makers as it doesn’t take a lot of testing. What type of waxes work well with HTP series wicks? HTP works well in soy and soy-paraffin blends. I have used them in coconut-soy blends, also, and they work beautifully. If you choose to use them in a parablend just make sure it is not the majority paraffin. Can HTP wicks work with high fragrance load candles? HTP wicks can handle medium to high fragrance load candles. These wicks have a strong construction, making them ideal for heat throw and consistent burning. Your wick will not burn super-fast, making your candle last longer, and they give off good heat throw. Heavy vanilla or heavy floral fragrances can sometimes require a more powerful wick, so if you are finding that the HTP wick of choice is not burning as evenly as you’d like with those scents, increase your wick size by one and re-test. HTP wicks are designed with a high-temperature paper (HTP) filament. This paper filament adds rigidity, allowing the wick to stay upright when lit, and helps to increase the heat giving better hot throw to your candles. Are HTP wicks self-trimming? HTP wicks are self-trimming with little to no mushrooming. This will be affected by the quality of your fragrance and wax selections. Mushrooming is caused when there is an imbalance between the amount of heat the wick puts off and the amount needed for the candle. Generally this means that the wick is too large for the candle; either the flame and burn pool are too large, so you need to scale down in wick size, or the wick burns too hot for that specific wax type. Do Shay wicks contain lead? As always, all our wicks are zinc and lead free; made of natural fibers only. For personal guarantees, always test each wick with each different wax type, fragrance and container. Personal testing is the only way to ensure how the wick will perform in your product.
