Veggie Dye Block Print Cotton Table Napkin 18" x 18" Olive Green

VEGETABLE DYED NAPKIN ~ Authentic veggie dyed and hand block printed napkin. Lovely mandala circle pattern in shades of olive green and gold on greenish beige background. Very primitive appeal with drops of misplaced dye or smudges from the artists hands as he pressed his blocks to the fabric, forever leaving his trace. It does not get any closer to "handcraft" than this. Please note that print and dye imperfections are not to be considered defects but rather primitive characteristics associated to the art of hand block printing. Made of 100% cotton and measures approximately 18 x 18 inches. They are color fast and can be machine washed separately on cool/gentle and tumble dried. Hand block printing on textiles refers to the technique by which carved wooden blocks dipped in dye are hand pressed along a length of cloth to create a repeated pattern. It is the oldest and slowest form of textile printing known to man. The block print designs created centuries ago remain ever popular through out many cultures around the world today. Many of our napkins have matching placemats and tablecloths that can be purchased individually. You will love the unique quality of this authentic vegetable dye block print napkin.
