Many people keep one nearby as a soothing accent — see more stones for balance and wellness. Note: howlite is naturally porous and widely dyed in the trade to imitate turquoise and other stones; this piece is natural, undyed white howlite with its own grey veining, and the pin stand is metal, not natural stone. How to use it Set the pin on a desk, shelf, or windowsill as a small calming accent, or keep it nearby during moments when you want a patient, grounded feeling. Care & cleansing Howlite is soft and porous, so keep it away from water, oils, and lotions, which can stain or discolor it — dust gently with a dry cloth instead. Keep the metal base dry as well to prevent tarnish. For energetic cleansing, smoke or sound are better choices than water. Frequently asked questions What is howlite used for? Howlite is traditionally known as a calming stone of patience, associated with peace and quiet. This is a decorative/symbolic piece, not a health product or medical device. Is howlite safe to get wet? No, avoid water. Howlite is porous and can absorb moisture, oils, or dyes, which may stain or discolor it — keep it dry and dust gently instead. Is howlite always dyed? Not always — this piece is natural, undyed white howlite with its own grey veining. However, howlite is widely dyed in the trade (often to imitate turquoise), so always check with the seller if a dyed color matters to you. How do I cleanse and charge howlite? Smoke cleansing or sound are gentle options that avoid the water and oil sensitivity of this porous stone. How can I tell howlite is real? Genuine natural howlite has a matte, porous surface with irregular grey veining running through white — dyed howlite will show unnaturally bright, uniform color (often turquoise-blue), which is a sign of treatment rather than a flaw. What crystals pair well with a howlite pin? Howlite pairs well with amethyst or lepidolite for a calm, patience-focused display. Pairs well with our Kyanite Mini Display Pin for a calming, alignment-focused display duo.
