Howard Core Peg Compound for String Instruments

Howard Core Peg Compound Keep your instrument in tune with confidence using the Howard Core Peg Compound a premium, beeswax-based solution designed to maintain smooth, reliable tuning peg performance on violins, violas, cellos, and double basses. Key Features & Benefits Pure Beeswax Formula, No Abrasives — Gentle on peg surfaces yet effective in providing necessary grip.  Smooth, Controlled Turning — Enables pegs to rotate freely while resisting slipping due to string tension.  Easy Application — Just apply a small amount to the contact area between the peg and pegbox to improve friction and reduce unwanted slippage.  Compact & Portable — Fits neatly in your instrument case so it’s available whenever you need it. Why Use Peg Compound? String tension can cause tuning pegs to slip, leading to pitch shifts and tuning instability. HC05 balances grip and movement—helping keep your tuning steady without making your pegs too stiff. Usage Tips Use sparingly; a little goes a long way. Apply only to the smooth surface of the peg that contacts the pegbox (not to the shaft’s whole length). If too much is used, pegs may become hard to turn—less is better.
