Hotara - Vintage Distressed Rug - 9'0 X 12'6

This black, hand-woven, one-of-a-kind piece embodies Anatolian heritage through a flatwoven construction, faded patina, and abrash detail. Featuring an overdyed finish, this low-pile, no-shed, high-traffic durable, layering-friendly, underfloor-heating safe, reversible weave offers a soft-touch, distressed character with a ghost-pattern, 70s craftsmanship, cotton-polyester blend, single-piece artisanal, sun-bleached tones aesthetic. About This Style Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, or worn-look surface treatments. These pieces reference the tradition of mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving, where items were produced in village workshops using regional motifs. Distressed rugs undergo a surface treatment that mimics natural wear, including erased pile areas and overdyed finishes, where the original rug is submerged in a colour bath to reveal ghost traces of the pattern beneath the wash. Where It Works The flatwoven construction allows this rug to lie perfectly flat, making it highly suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its thin profile is ideal for layering over larger carpets or placement in rooms with underfloor heating. Why Choose This Rug? — Features a striking black overdyed finish that highlights the underlying ghost-pattern and depth of the distressed character. — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend, offering the breathability of natural fibres with the added durability and moisture resistance of synthetic components. — The flatwoven, no-pile design ensures the rug remains stable underfoot and is exceptionally easy to clean. — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production. — Engineered for high-traffic durability, this reversible weave is compatible with underfloor heating systems and serves as an excellent base for layering.
