Horse Brass + Twilly Bag Charm

A little piece of old-world farm history. Horse brasses are traditional brass medallions originally made to adorn the harnesses of working horses. Once seen on draft horses, carriage horses, farm teams, and parade horses, these beautiful pieces brought a little ornamentation to the hardworking animals that helped carry everyday life. Our Horse Brasses are inspired by that same timeless tradition — weighty, beautifully detailed brass pieces made for those who love horses, old farms, collected treasures, and things that feel as though they could have been passed down through generations. Each design has its own character, making them beautiful displayed individually or collected together. Ways to Use Them • Add one to a horse harness or leather strap • Hang from a nail, peg, or hook • Display several together as a collected wall arrangement • Add to a gallery wall or vintage equestrian display • Hang in a barn, tack room, mudroom, kitchen, or entryway • Tie onto baskets, wreaths, cabinetry, or other farmhouse décor • Give as a special gift to a horse lover or collector A Bit of History Decorating horse harnesses has a very long history, but the horse brasses most recognizable today became especially popular during the 19th century. Working horses could be dressed in elaborate arrangements of gleaming brass, with designs representing everything from horses and wheat to animals, trade symbols, crests, and commemorative motifs. As working horses gradually disappeared from everyday streets and farms, the brasses themselves became beloved collectibles — little remnants of a time when the horse was woven into nearly every part of daily life. We love them for exactly that reason. They feel right at home here — where animals, agriculture, traditional handiwork, and the old ways still have a place. Details • Traditional horse-brass style medallion • Brass construction • Decorative hanging design • Beautiful for equestrian or farmhouse décor • Collect several to create your own arrangement • Designs sold individually unless otherwise noted 3”-4” big!!! Please note: Brass naturally develops character and patina over time. Variations, darkening, surface markings, and changes in finish are part of the beauty of this traditional material and make each piece feel uniquely its own. A small piece of equestrian history for the modern homestead — meant to be hung, collected, admired, and passed along.
