Horizon Rubber HORIZON is the thinnest and most delicate model within the four collections offered by Minase. As the name suggests, the singular design of the Horizon watch was inspired by the harmonious, smooth horizon line. This design cue led to both the case and bracelet (or strap) to seemingly appear on a single plane. The curved shape of the case and the integration of the bracelet or the leather strap make Horizon very comfortable to wear. Its shape fits perfectly, even on small wrists. In addition, the Horizon’s thick sapphire crystal has been cut and polished from the front to the back. The result is a dome reminiscent of the water’s surface. With the Horizon Rubber, Minase wanted to create a sober watch that would pay tribute to their beautiful country. Japan is an island, so wherever you go, however different the region may look, if you walk to the shore, you’ll find that horizon line over the ocean. Minase likes the idea that when you look so far away, the ocean always looks calm, and that’s what they did with the Horizon. From the top, the overall watch looks calm and peaceful. On the other hand, seen from the sides, the watch becomes strong, powerful and virile. With its polished sides surrounding a brushed concave central part, its finish is reminiscent of the Katana, the famous samurai sword. A special feature that meets the eye is the date window displaying the date preceding and following the current “D-day” with a little arrow pointing to the current date. A square watch Like all Minase watches, Horizon rubber’s architecture is based on an unusually high number of parts and innovative technical solutions. To perfectly fit the domed dial and crystal, the hands are delicately bent at the tip. In addition, their rotation point is at a higher level than the corners of the glass, reinforcing the doomed impression of the case. Conceived of pure, simply drawn lines inspired by a Japanese sword, the Katana, the Horizon embodies powerful calmness, just like the sea before a storm, and the strength of nature. Handmade in Japan As every Minase watch, the Horizon Rubber Collection is manufactured in Japan. All Minase timepieces bear the registered label “HiZ“, a concept inspired by the Japanese words Hizu (exceptional) and Hi Izuru Kuni (Land of the rising sun). The products labelled HiZ are unique with innovative features such as the “case in case” structure, the extraordinary Sallaz finish and the construction principle “MORE” (Minase Original Rebuild Equation). Mechanical movement Minase’s KT7002 movement is based on the Swiss ETA 2892/A2 ébauches. This high-end execution displays hand-finished surfaces with perlage, blue screws, bridges with diamond polished bevels and a main plate and bridges in black “or”. 50 hours’ power reserve. The Minase rotor was personalized for Minase and displays the brand’s drill head logo, while several openings reveal the movement underneath. This component is assembled with MPS lubrication-free bearings. With its ETACHRON regulating system, this is a very high precision execution. 21 Jewels. Frequency 28’800 vibrations/hour (4 Hz).
