Heybike Horizon-Combo

Heybike Horizon-Combo If you want the comfort of a mountain bike but need the convenience of a folding frame, the Heybike Horizon is a unique "unicorn" in the e-bike world. Most folding bikes feel stiff because they lack a complex suspension, but the Horizon changes that by using a genuine Horst-link rear suspension paired with a front hydraulic fork. It is designed for riders who want to glide over cracked city pavement and gravel paths without the jarring feedback typical of smaller folding bikes. Smooth Power and Speed The Horizon is powered by a 750W rear hub motor that can peak at 1200W, providing enough muscle to hit a top speed of 28 mph. With 80 Nm of torque, it has the low-end grunt needed to help 200-lb riders tackle steep neighborhood hills without losing momentum. While it uses a traditional cadence sensor rather than a torque sensor, the power delivery is robust. Reviewers at Electrek noted that once the motor kicks in, it feels like a "steady wind at your back," making it easy to maintain high speeds with minimal effort once you get the pedals moving. All-Terrain Stability with 24-Inch Tires One of the most distinctive features is the wheel size. While most folders use 20-inch wheels, the Horizon steps up to 24x4-inch fat tires. This extra diameter helps the bike roll over larger obstacles more easily and provides a more stable, "big bike" feel. To keep that speed in check, Heybike equipped the Horizon with RSX hydraulic disc brakes and 180mm rotors. Independent tests from webBikeWorld found the brakes to be surprisingly grippy and responsive, offering a level of confidence often missing in budget-friendly folding models. Sunset Style and Practicality The Horizon isn't just a performer; its "Sunset" gradient paint job makes it one of the best-looking bikes on the road. Despite its stylish look, it remains practical with an 80-mile max range on pedal assist and a sturdy rear rack for cargo. It features integrated turn signals and an auto-on headlight for safety. As highlighted by The Gadgeteer, the bike feels exceptionally well-constructed, and the addition of a 4-amp fast charger means you can top up the battery in roughly half the time of standard chargers. Top Speed Rating Top Speed: 28 mph Acceleration: Smooth and predictable High‑Speed Control: Stable in the mid‑20s Hill Speed: Holds momentum on moderate climbs Overall Speed Rating: 4.6/5 Why Choose the Horizon? The Heybike Horizon is the right choice for the rider who prioritizes comfort and aesthetics. It offers a "softail" riding experience that few folding bikes can match, making it a reliable, head-turning commuter for anyone who wants to enjoy the journey as much as the destination.
