Replacement dissolved oxygen electrodes for HORIBA meters, in laboratory and field configurations. These are membrane-covered electrochemical DO sensors: oxygen diffuses through a gas-permeable membrane and is reduced at the cathode, producing a current proportional to the oxygen concentration in the sample. Laboratory 9521-10D (3200891722) — laboratory DO and BOD electrode with integral stirrer. The built-in stirrer is what makes this the right electrode for BOD bottle work. Membrane DO sensors consume oxygen at the membrane face, so a stagnant sample reads progressively lower as a depleted layer builds up. Standard BOD methods therefore require sample movement at the membrane. An integral stirrer guarantees it, in the confined neck of a BOD bottle where an external stirrer will not fit. Field 9552-20D (3200780939) — field DO electrode with 2 m cable. 9552-50D (3200780941) — field DO electrode with 5 m cable. Choose the cable length for the depth you need to reach. The 2 m version suits buckets, flow cells and shallow surface water; the 5 m version reaches into tanks, aeration basins, manholes and shallow wells. In still water, move the probe steadily through the sample while reading. A DO electrode that is slow to respond, will not hold calibration, or reads erratically almost always needs a fresh membrane and electrolyte rather than a new electrode.
