Hoover's Ole Yeller Lyons Studios Limited Edition Aviation Print

Generations of airshow enthusiasts will instantly recognize the star of Sam Lyons' Hoover's Ole Yeller - even without the artwork's descriptive title. The 18" x 22½" illustration showcases N51RH, aka "Ole Yeller," the beloved P-51 Mustang owned & piloted by aviation legend Bob Hoover. This image depicts the larger-than-life canary-colored aircraft on the tarmac at the Reno Air Races, where Hoover flew it for years as the event's official pace and safety airplane. Adding to the stunning realism of the piece is Lyons' inclusion of the area's rugged arid landscape, checkered "Reno" pylon - complete with the American flag, and a pair of participating planes flying low against the elevated backdrop. A simple glance at the imagery is all it takes before you'll swear you can smell avgas. This item is available as both an Artist Proof (limited to 30) and a signed & numbered Limited Edition print (limited to 300). Both versions are printed on acid-free paper, utilize first-rate permanent inks, and include a Certificate of Authenticity. Further adding to its appeal is the fact that Hoover himself has co-signed the piece along with the artist. A gem of an aviation keepsake that any Hoover fan is sure to treasure.
